Hopefully, my article can help us as a teacher in the future. Teaching English as a foreign language has been extended to reach at a very young level regarding the needs of developing human resources. This means that English is taught from the early age, with the expectation that students will get more exposure and acquire the language skills for the better results. However, teaching English to young learners need extra effort because it is more than just passing information. Teaching English to young learners is guiding, nurturing, and facilitating young learners for their activities in learning and understanding knowledge, skills and information of Eng...

Policy : Primary ELT Program

hii readers!!! Welcome back again to my blog. In this chapter, I want to share and tell you about Policy: Primary ELT Program. The English language environment in the three primary schools studied apparently was lacking. The pupils were not being exposed to a conducive English language environment where they were given ample opportunities to use the language in and out of the classroom, and in and out of the school.  • Classroom language opportunity: On the whole, the pupils' only opportunity to use English was limited to the classroom; i.e., during the English language lessons. That would mean a maximum of an hour (for a double period) or a single period of half an hour, six periods a week if the instruction was totally done in the language.  • English outside the classroom: Outside the classroom, English language, as a means of interaction amongst the pupils, was practically non-existent. English language panels and society, which had been entrusted to plan and impleme...

Development Stage For Learners

Gambar
hello readers!  Welcome back to my blog. So, I wanna tell you about The Development Stage For Learners enjoy my article:) :) :) DEVELOPMENTAL CHARACTERISTICS As noted earlier, actual chronological age is only a relative indicator of someone’s physical, cognitive, and psychosocial stage of development. Unique as each individual is, however, some typical developmental trends have been identified as milestones of normal progression through the life cycle. When dealing with the teaching-learning process, it is imperative to examine the developmental phases as individuals progress from infancy to senescence so as to fully appreciate the behavioral changes that occur in the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. As influential as age can be to learning readiness, it should never be examined in isolation. Growth and development interact with experiential background, physical and emotional health status, and personal motivation, as well as numerous environmental factors such...

Teaching Reading and Writing

Gambar
HI READERS!! Welcome back to my new article. So, in this article, I want to share about Teaching Reading and Writing for Young Learners. Enjoy my article !!! Reading English has some skills namely listening, speaking, reading and writing. Beside these skills, reading becomes important skill that should be mastered by students since they are still young. Reading is one of English skill that is very important that should be taught and delivered well. Reading comprehension skills can be acquired easily through positive communication between the educator and the learner (Alharbi, 2015:1258). In teaching reading, English teachers should implement good and appropriate strategies which can be a stimulus to become active students and participate in teaching and learning process. There are so many strategies in teaching reading but it should be suitable with students’ condition and learning environment. In literate societies, most normal children learn to read by the age of five or six, and...

Rituals in School

Gambar
Hi readers!!!! COME BACK AGAIN TO MY BLOG :) so, in this blog, I would like to share information and tips about rituals in school. “Brush your teeth, go to the toilets, storytime, and then you go straight to bed”. We’ve got used to hearing them since we were kids, which is why   rituals   are extremely important for students. In fact, they start getting familiar with them at a  very young age.  They get to have responsibilities, tasks and it also gives them the opportunity to work their memory since these habits get “stuck in their minds.”  Rituals at home are as important as those in the classroom. The students feel at ease and know they are in good hands! They are considered as  important  and  practical:  Students learn how to concentrate and this definitely helps teachers to do their job perfectly! As the years go by, rituals keep taking a crucial place in my schedule. The great thing about this is that I can include them in  al...

Gambar
Hello readers!!! Welcome back to my blog. how's ur day?? I hope we always stay healthy. So, this is my new blog on my new page in 5th credits. This page is about "Teaching English to Young Learners". In the first blog, I wanna share my experienced taught young learners.       Since in high school, I've been teaching in Sunday school as a teacher/sister for my children. Every 2 times a month, I taught my children in Sunday school about the Bible. Sunday school started at 9 a.m in every Sunday. I taught in the 3rd and 4th of elementary school. I was happy when I taught them. From my experienced, I've so many challenges. When I taught them, I should be like them. For example, when I talked to them, I always use kids language, I mean like my language style should be like children and use simple language. Then, taught young learners like children were very difficult because they were very active. They asked a lot of questions which were rarely far from our mind. Then, ...
